At 8am we pick you up, then travel by 4WD to the southwest of Arequipa on the highway to Lima
During the travel we pass the Uchumayo Valley and while we go you can appreciate spectacular view of the volcanic range surrounding the white city of Arequipa.
After one hour of driving we arrive to the bottom of the first sand dune. Place on which you practice a little, to get used to the boards. Going to the top of this dune is posible by climbing it or by the 4WD; from the top you can go down on the boards.
Then we go off road on the desert towards the second dune.After 30 minutes we will be there ready to go down. Our 4x4 trucks will drop us at the top of the Dune, we drive into wild terrain get spectacular view of the Andes and the desert of Arequipa.
Experienced or beginners are welcome to practice downhill on the boards.
After 2 hours of Sandboard on the dunes we travel for about one hour to Mollendo, place in which we will have luch and if you want you can go for a dip into the ocean.
Right after lunch we will be going to mejia, where there's a Protected Area called "Santuario y Lagunas de Mejia"; in this place you can appreciate different birds like herons, seagulls, parrots, swallows, vultures and more.
After some time spent in this place we drive back to Arequipa, that could take around 3 hours.
